Vol. 2 No. 1 (2021): Specialized Magazine Afams
Volume 2, Number 1 (2021) of the Revista Especializada AFAMS addresses the inclusion and holistic development of individuals with disabilities through adapted physical activity. First, it analyzes the psychomotor approach in childhood to strengthen bodily development and early affective bonds. It also examines the pedagogical and technological challenges that remote education imposed during the pandemic on students with intellectual disabilities. Through a practical experience in adapted tennis, it highlights the importance of overcoming social barriers and eliminating paternalism by fostering personal autonomy. In the field of mental health, it explores the emotional support provided by assistance dogs to individuals with autism in overwhelming environments. Finally, it presents "Movement is Health," a community intervention model in Los Vilos aimed at coordinating home care and school workshops to combat physical inactivity.
